Coconut Shell-Based Activated Carbon

Use this activated carbon to embed BRONZclay™ and COPPRclay™ pieces for firing. Coconut shell–based carbon produces a light patina color on your pieces. To prepare the carbon for use, place it inside the container, cover with the lid and fire for 30 minutes at 1550°F. For a more richly colorful patina, try the coal-based acid-washed activated carbon (#703-204). Contains 5-lbs. (2.3kg).

Please Note: Use a firing pan (available separately) to hold both carbon and pieces to be fired. Fire COPPRclay only in coconut shell–based carbon; do not fire it in the coal-based acid-washed carbon.
